Before You Start

  • Your Kolo card is active — not frozen or terminated

  • Your device supports Apple Pay or Google Pay, and the wallet is available in your region

  • Your device has the latest OS version

  • You have a stable internet connection

Prefer step-by-step guidance? You can also add your card from the Kolo app — open your card and tap Add to Apple Pay or Add to Google Pay. The app will walk you through each step.

Apple Pay

Can I add my card?

  • USD card: your country of residence from verification must be supported by Apple Pay.

  • EUR card: no extra conditions.

Check Apple's official list: Apple Pay supported countries and regions

USD card: if your country of residence isn't on Apple's list, the card can't be added to Apple Pay. Have an identity document from another country? Let us know — we'll review your case and suggest the next steps.

How to add your card

  1. Open the Wallet app on your iPhone

  2. Tap + → Debit or Credit Card

  3. Enter your card number, expiry date and CVV manually

  4. Complete verification

Done! You can pay with Apple Pay on all devices linked to your Apple Account — iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad and Mac.

Apple Wallet asks me to verify by phone — what should I do?

This is an extra security check from Apple or Visa. It can happen with both USD and EUR cards and doesn't mean something is wrong with your card.

  1. Call the number shown in Apple Wallet. It may differ for USD and EUR cards, so use the exact number displayed.

  2. Complete any extra step you're asked for, such as a code by SMS or email.

  3. Contact Support if needed — sometimes the final activation is completed on our side.

Adding the card again won't skip verification.

Apple Pay not available for you? You can still use your Kolo card for online payments — just enter your card details at checkout.

Google Pay

  1. Open the Google Wallet app on your Android device

  2. Tap Add to Wallet → Payment card

  3. Enter your card number, expiry date and CVV

  4. Complete verification if requested and finish setup

Done! You can now use Google Pay for contactless and online payments.

Samsung Wallet: Kolo cards (USD and EUR) can't be added to Samsung Wallet yet. On Samsung devices, use Google Wallet instead.

Apple ID, Google Play and PayPal

Apple ID (App Store, iCloud, subscriptions)

This is different from Apple Pay — here your card becomes the payment method for your Apple Account.

FAQ

Can I add the same Kolo card to more than one device?

In most cases yes, but this depends on the wallet provider and device-level checks. Sometimes the same card works on one device and fails on another.

Why am I asked to verify my card again if it was already added?

This can happen. In many cases, removing the card from the wallet and adding it again resolves the issue.

Does reissuing the card fix Apple Pay issues?

Not always. If the restriction comes from Apple or from device-specific checks, reissuing the card won't change the result.

If my card fails in Apple Pay, will it also fail in Google Pay?

Not necessarily. A card may fail in Apple Pay but work in Google Pay, or the other way around. Some issues are device-specific too.

Can Apple or Google block setup even if my card is active?

Yes. Wallet providers run their own security and risk checks, and some of these decisions can't be controlled from Kolo's side. Some issues are temporary and resolve on their own after a while.

Can contacting Apple Support enable Apple Pay in unsupported regions?

No. These restrictions are set by Apple and can't be overridden by support agents.

Why does my receipt show different last 4 digits when I pay with Apple Pay?

This is normal. Apple Pay uses a separate secure number (Device Account Number) to protect your real card details, and it may appear on receipts instead of your card number.

You can find it in Apple Wallet: Wallet → your Kolo card → Card Details → Card Information.

Don't recognize a payment at all? Check your card transactions in Kolo or contact Support.

Why is my card not working with Google Wallet or at contactless terminals?

  • The card was successfully added to Google Wallet

  • NFC is enabled on your device

  • Google Wallet is set as your default payment app

  • Your Kolo card is active, not frozen or terminated

  • You have enough balance in an enabled spending asset

  • The terminal supports contactless Visa payments

Still not working? Remove the card from Google Wallet and add it again, or contact Support with your device model, Android version and the error message.

Does the Kolo Virtual Card support NFC payments?

Yes — when it's added to Apple Pay or Google Pay on an NFC-compatible device. If your device has no NFC, you can still pay online with your card details or add the card to another device.
