Notifications & Alerts — How to Set Them Up

Push notifications help you notice important card and account activity in time. This article explains why notifications matter, how to enable them, and what to do if they are not arriving.

Why notifications matter

Notifications can help you:

  • approve 3D Secure (3DS) requests faster

  • notice card transactions in real time

  • detect expected and unexpected account activity

This is especially important for card security. If you do not receive alerts in time, you may miss a payment confirmation request or notice suspicious activity later than expected.

What notifications may be used for

Depending on the flow, Kolo may use notifications for:

  • card transaction updates

  • payment confirmation requests

  • 3DS approval flows

  • important security-related events

Some confirmations may also be delivered by SMS, email, Telegram, or in-app screens, depending on the case. However, push notifications remain one of the fastest ways to notice activity.

How to enable notifications on Android

The exact steps may vary depending on your device, but the general flow is:

  1. Open Settings

  2. Tap App notifications

  3. Find Kolo

  4. Turn on All Notifications

On some Android devices, you may also need to:

  • allow background activity

  • disable battery restrictions for Kolo

  • allow pop-up or priority notifications

These settings can help prevent important alerts from being delayed or hidden.

What to do if notifications are enabled but still do not arrive

If Kolo notifications are turned on but you do not receive them:

  • make sure your phone is connected to the internet

  • check that Kolo notifications are enabled in your phone settings

  • make sure battery saver or background restrictions are not blocking the app

  • update the Kolo app to the latest version

  • restart the app or your phone

If the problem continues, try logging out and back in again, or contact support.

Why this is important for 3DS

Some online card payments require 3D Secure confirmation.

If you do not notice the confirmation request in time:

  • the payment may fail

  • the merchant may show an error

  • you may need to retry the purchase

💡 If a 3DS request does not appear, also check your SMS, email, Kolo Telegram Bot (@kolo), depending on the delivery method available for your case.

Why this is important for suspicious transactions

Fast alerts can help you react quickly if you see a transaction you do not recognize.

If you notice suspicious card activity:

  1. open Kolo immediately

  2. review the transaction

  3. lock the card if needed

  4. contact support

The sooner you see unexpected activity, the sooner you can protect your card.
