Kolo supports crypto deposits and internal transfers between Kolo users.
Wallet vs Card — Important Difference
Kolo’s custodial wallet is used for card usage, crypto deposits and withdrawals, and other regulated operations:
you receive funds into your wallet
your card uses wallet funds for payments
funds in a non-custodial wallet cannot be used directly for card payments
Ways to Receive Funds in Kolo
You can receive funds in Kolo in these common ways:
1. Crypto deposit to your wallet
Another person can send crypto to your Kolo deposit address from:
a custodial wallet or exchange, such as Binance or Coinbase
a non-custodial wallet, such as MetaMask, Ledger, or Trust Wallet
For crypto deposits, the sender may need to provide additional sender details under the Travel Rule. For more information, see Travel Rule
2. Internal transfer from another Kolo user
Another Kolo user can send funds to your Kolo account using your email address.
If your email belongs to an active Kolo user who completed onboarding, the transfer is processed internally in Kolo.
For step-by-step instructions, see Send Money via Email — How It Works
What to Check Before Receiving a Crypto Deposit
Before someone sends you crypto, make sure:
you copied the correct deposit address
the sender selected the correct blockchain network
you checked whether a memo or tag is required
the sender understands whether they are sending from a custodial or non-custodial wallet
Using the wrong address, wrong network, or missing memo can lead to delays, failed crediting, or recovery fees.
What Happens After the Funds Arrive
Once the funds arrive successfully:
they appear in your wallet balance
if the funds are in your custodial wallet, they can be used for card spending
if needed, you can manage which balances are used for card payments in Spending balances
Card payments use enabled wallet balances in priority order.
FAQ
Can someone send money to my Kolo card?
Can someone send money to my Kolo card?
No — funds are not received to the card number itself. Your Kolo card does not work like a separate balance for incoming transfers. Funds must arrive in your wallet, and then your card can use that wallet balance for payments. This follows the existing Kolo model, where card usage is tied to the custodial wallet and spending balances.
